WHO I AM?

Hi, I’m Julia, a Ukrainian photojournalist and filmmaker based in Kyiv, Ukraine.
As a storyteller, I mostly focus on human issues - the start and the end of everything is hidden inside a person.
My photos, covering Maidan Revolution, the annexation of Crimea and Donbass war were published in BBC Online, The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Huffington Post, The National Geographic, Bild Am Abend, Gazeta Prawna, Le Nouvel Observateur, Ceska Televize, Zeit etc. These pictures also were exhibited and became the part of different photobooks in UK, USA, France, Serbia, Germany and Ukraine.
I’ve studied in Mohyla School of Journalism, where I started to work with video and created my documentary autobigraphical debut See You Later. It was presented and got special awards in different film festivals in Estonia, France, Brazil, Georgia, Belarus, Ukraine.
During my study I also got a great chance to work as a fixer with documentary photographer Anastasia Taylor-Lind and tried myself as a teaching assistant at
National Geographic photocamp for internally displaced persons.
I’m open for assignments worldwide, full packed with the trainings and equipment to cover stories in conflict zones. Able to work under tight deadlines, proficient in working in shifts and in 24X7 work environment, individually and independent in multicultural regions.
Speak English and basic German, native Ukrainian and Russian languages.
And the last but not the least, I’m always open for collaboration with directors, camerawomen and cameramen, sound designers, musicians, performers, street artists.
